Halftide fun

Got out early for a sunrise sesh today. We got out just in time to see it rise but it was on the wrong side of the hill we were on so missed it after all :/ Josh and I did a swell check and saw some nice clean lines rolling in down at halftide again with no one out so decided to walk down with the board. I got in the water at 6 and had it to myself till 7.45 when a couple of young blokes paddled out. Josh managed to snap a few pics off on the phone before we went back up. Perfect start to the day!

Start of the holidays

We had presentations at school last Wednesday finishing up the school year. Its been great at CVAS and look forward to another challenging and fun year with an amazing staff and students.
On the Friday we traveled up the coast to stay with mum and dad at Evans for a week. The wind was a bit blowy but managed to get an awesome wave down at Half Tide sheltered by the hill from the strong SE wind. Was a fun takeoff section with 100m+ walls that were a hoot to slide down. Looking forward to the remainder of the swell as it drops out over the following week. Awesome start to the holls!

Epic day!

Here are a couple of pics from today. Went for a moto ride up the Gibralter range, family bike ride out to junction hill followed by a night skate after the boys were in bed. I think I might do the same :)

Afternoon angles

Great arvo fishing with Dan, Gus and Cameron.  Had mixed results in the water but was great to have a solid catch up with the boys! These pics were taken by Cam out at Durringtons Lane near Yamba. Was too good an arvo not to be out enjoying the last rays of light.

Holiday surfs

Went up to yamba for an early surf with Chris this morning.  It was blowing 10-15 kts from the south east and onto only 1-2 ft of swell so I wasnt expecting too much from it. We jumped in off the jump rock at turners and ended up having a blast. Was only in it for 40 to 50 mins but scored some fun little rides on the Mctavish. Finished up on an epic left back into the rocks. After surf we went in to town for a pie at the best pie shop ever Pie and Pea. We sat on their new bean bags outside and finished up with a coffee.
Popped into Angourie on the way home to see what it was like there but was way too small and blown out for anything. Love making the most of a cloudy rainy day :)
